At Claywood, we believe that good food starts with knowing exactly what goes into it.

Our kitchen is built around a simple philosophy: source thoughtfully, prepare from scratch, and let good ingredients speak for themselves.

We choose to work with local ingredients whenever possible, prepare our food in-house, and keep our cooking as close to the ingredient as we can. For us, eating well isn’t about following every dietary trend or making a promise about what our menu will look like from season to season. It is about knowing our food, respecting our ingredients, and serving them honestly.

EATING CLEAN | EATING WELL

There is more awareness than ever around the additives, preservatives, and other ingredients that can find their way into the foods and beverages we consume. We understand that, for many of our guests, this is an important part of making thoughtful choices about what they eat and drink.

That understanding is part of why we have chosen to remain a scratch kitchen.

We make our food with real ingredients and prepare them ourselves. We care about the quality of our meats, our produce, and everything that comes through our kitchen. 

OUR MENU CHANGES WITH THE SEASON

We don’t set out to be a vegan restaurant, a gluten-free restaurant, or any other type of specialty restaurant. We are simply Claywood.

When the season naturally brings an abundance of beautiful vegetables and produce, our menu may have more vegan or vegetable-forward dishes. At other times of the year, it may not. Our menu follows what is available, what is good, and what makes sense for the way we cook.

We don’t want to promise a menu that we don’t intend to offer.

Instead, we want to be honest about what you will find when you dine with us: a menu built around our ingredients, our kitchen, and our vision.

STAYING TRUE TO WHAT WE DO

We are happy to accommodate dietary needs when we can, and when time and the kitchen allow, our team may be able to make adjustments. However, we do not routinely deconstruct or significantly alter our dishes to meet individual dietary preferences, and we cannot guarantee that modifications will be possible.

We believe there is something valuable in experiencing a dish as our kitchen intended it.

That doesn’t mean we don’t listen. It means we want to be transparent about what we do well—and stay true to it.

Claywood is a scratch kitchen. We source locally, cook thoughtfully, and let the seasons guide us. We don’t promise to be everything for everyone. We promise to be ourselves.
